Procurement Logistics Manager

Are you a seasoned procurement professional with a solid understanding of logistics and the leadership skills to guide an international team? At Ahlers, you’ll not only negotiate the best transport deals worldwide, but also lead and align a procurement team located in Turkey, Ukraine, Romania, China, Singapore and Central Asia.

✅ Bonus: Do you have experience in road transport security or are familiar with TAPA regulations for secure transport and warehousing? That would be a major asset!

Your responsibilities

• Source and procure logistics services (road, sea, air), negotiating for best value and quality
• Develop and implement a group-wide, unified procurement strategy
• Monitor budgets, supplier performance, and key procurement KPIs
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance and Sales teams in a global setting
• Lead and coach an international procurement team (approx. 10 people across several countries)
• Identify and mitigate risks such as price volatility, supply chain disruptions and quality issues
• Incorporate supplier selection criteria related to transport and warehouse security, including TAPA compliance

Your profile

• Strong academic and professional background in procurement and logistics (freight forwarding, contract logistics, transport sourcing)
• Ability to analyze tariffs and pricing structures
• Leadership experience, ideally with geographically dispersed teams
• Solid knowledge of contract management, cost control and compliance
• Experience or affinity with secure transport chains and TAPA standards is a strong advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
• Natural negotiator and skilled in supplier relationship management
• Structured, proactive and results-driven mindset
