JOB DESCRIPTION

As a healthcare application development engineer in the global 3D Systems Direct Metal Printing (DMP) team, you will focus on developing customer applications for metal additive manufacturing within the healthcare market segment. Development goes from initial benchmark and feasibility studies through validation and verification processes prior to release to the end customer.

In this job, you will not only cooperate with service and application engineering colleagues world-wide, but you can also rely on the knowledge and experience from other 3D Systems divisions. You will be working in project teams utilizing quality engineers and manufacturing engineers specialized in many different post-processing technologies. Knowledge sharing and training is also expected to further grow and facilitate adoption of the DMP-technology in your target market. Furthermore, you will provide feedback regarding field issues and customer requirements to the development teams to feed future product line improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Application development and application support to 3DS customers
• Understand and use product development processes to ensure compliance and develop thorough, high quality, robust products and processes.
• Collaborate with quality engineers, manufacturing engineers and customer engineering teams to deliver the optimal solution to the customer.
• Conduct time studies and machine demonstrations. And perform benchmark studies to analyze machine capability for specific customer requests
• Coordinate presale demonstrations and support trade shows and open houses
• Work and report on multiple projects at the same time
• Execute product realization and project management processes to deliver innovation quickly and with excellent quality.

PROFILE

• Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or science; and/or equivalent by experience.
• Experience with Additive Manufacturing is a plus
• Experience in medical industry is a plus
• A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills
• Proficient in CAD-software such as: 3DXpert, Magics, Solid Works
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time for trade shows, customer meetings and trainings
• Excellent knowledge of English both written and spoken
