Mission Context

As our client continues to expand its AI capabilities, we seek a Responsible AI Consultant to help establish a strategic and comprehensive Responsible AI framework.

This role will ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, ethical, and environmental standards, while also addressing societal expectations. The ultimate goal is to enhance trust and reputation by delivering secure and reliable AI solutions.

Role Description

The Responsible AI Consultant will serve as an independent technical expert, providing objective insights and best practices for the development of AI systems. A key focus will be on risk management, particularly in bias mitigation, explainability, fairness, reliability, and sustainability. This individual will challenge technical decisions, offering guidance to ensure AI models are robust, transparent, and trustworthy.

Additionally, the consultant will help shape and implement a long-term Responsible AI strategy, advising on risk frameworks and investment in AI governance initiatives. Your expertise will serve as a sounding board for AI policy development and framework enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Responsible AI Risk Framework, covering:
• Accountability and governance
• Robustness and security
• Transparency and interpretability
• Human oversight
• Data privacy and protection
• Fairness and non-discrimination
• Societal and environmental impact
• Collaborate and align with key stakeholders, including:
• Group entities (Legal, Risk, and Data teams) to ensure compliance with policies and frameworks.
• Data scientists and business analysts to create risk management solutions for high-risk AI systems.
• Business owners to establish end-to-end AI risk governance.
• Participate in risk management processes to support sustainable and compliant AI deployment.

Language Requirements

• French or Dutch – Proficiency required
• English – Fluent

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Certifications: AI development, risk management, or AI regulations certifications are a plus
• Strong technical background in AI (preferably as a data scientist)
• Expertise in AI risk identification and mitigation across multiple domains (ethical, operational, IT, security)
• Good understanding of AI regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, GDPR)

Preferred Business & Technical Skills

• Banking experience: Knowledge of financial services, products, and risk management challenges
• Strong interest in data analytics and AI governance
• Ability to engage stakeholders and communicate complex AI risks effectively

Soft Skills

• Analytical, problem-solving mindset with a pragmatic approach to AI governance
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to drive engagement across the organization
• Customer-focused with strong communication and teamwork abilities

Work Conditions

• Hybrid model: 50% remote, 50% on-site
• Travel: Not applicable
