Project Manager Buildings

Introduction

• To support our client we are looking for a Project Manager Buildings.

Organization

• Joining an ambitious and dynamic project, you will be part of the GP project team in Ghent as a Project manager for Buildings related infrastructure. Your experience will be key in supporting the team in handling the delivery on time and within budget of this major project.
• As part of the project several new building infrastructures need to be developed, e.g. Grid Intake station, Social building, Warehouse, Workshop(s), Steelmaking plant building, several utility buildings (pump rooms, substations, …).

Function

• Responsible for the project management of the scope related to new building infrastructures (>80M EUR).
• You collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners (reviewing schedules for deliverables, formulating civil scopes, enforcing D&E standardization).
• You ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations as applicable.
• You conduct reviews and approvals for documents, drawings and request for change.
• You enable periodic internal reviews and coordination with stakeholders to address gaps and follow-through resolution.
• Proactively escalate any project governance issues that are creating a barrier to project delivery in a timely manner and make suggestions for how they might be brought back to plan.
• Drive continuous process improvements through the project lifecycle, by using lessons learnt and identifying opportunities.
• Analyse improvement areas identified via maturity assessment, evaluate use cases & prioritize and propose actions.
• You will support and report to the SMP project delivery lead of the GP project.

Requirements

• Experience in working with EPCM or EPC companies.
• Expertise in Project Management.
• Goal oriented, results driven, takes initiative, leadership and attention to detail.
• Effective communicator, with ability to deal ability to proactively deal with senior executives and stakeholders, persuading them to meet deadlines.
• Proven people management skills.
• +5 or +15 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a similar role (we are looking for medior/senior profiles).
• Relevant experience in any of these domains is required (KB Attachment 6 (Belgian legislation related to fire safety by design) – EPB (Belgian legislation related to energy measures)- Permitting procedures (OMV) in Flanders).
• It’s a plus if you have Mining or Metal sector knowledge.
• Professional certification in PMI or Prince2.
• Master/Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent professional technical education.
• Project language is English, knowledge of the Dutch language is a prerequisite .
• Regular travels to Spain or other European countries (Madrid, Bilbao).
