Introduction
We are currently supporting our client in their search for a (pre)commissioning lead project engineer.
Organization
- Working with a team of project engineers act as focal point for pre-commissioning activities to drive closure of items and prepare for handover to the commissioning team.
Function
The role reports to the Project Precommissioning Manager. The role responsibilities include:
- To support the Project Precommissioning Manager, in the performance of his/her duties.
- Work closely with the Execute contractor to ensure that all Precommissioning issues are properly resolved in a timely manner, that design the is managed correctly, and that the facilities comply with all Project and statuatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor precommissioning work performed by the Execute Contractors and other third party designers/vendors/subcontractors, providing oversight and guidance, ensuring that all work satisfies Project specifications and standards and meets or ideally is better than the project schedule and cost targets.

- Broad estimating skills and practical understanding of costs (capital, operating, life cycle)
- Willing and flexibility to travel, although the role is based in Antwerp Belgium.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
It would be advantageous if the candidate would also have the following background work experience:
- Major project experience with strong design engineering/procurement background and a broad understanding of multiple disciplines and their interfaces • Proven track record of delivering leading SHE performance
- Hands on experience of Precommissioning or Commissioning on a major Construction Site.
- Experience of a completions and hand over management system us essential.
- Experience compliance with Belgium regulations and CE marking would be an advantage.
Specific Role Requirements:
- Degree qualified and chartered or equivalent in appropriate engineering discipline.
- More than 15 years’ experience in Engineering role it Oil and gas or Petrochemical setting. Precommissioning operations experience would be a significant advantage.
- Seasoned and experienced Engineer.
