X2 IT Infrastructure Process & Service Engineer

For my client in West Flanders I am looking for X2 IT Process and Service Engineers. One to specialise in Network and Connectivity with the other specialising in Hybrid Cloud. You must be Dutch/English speaking and its an initial 6 month contract with approval for extension. Please find below job descriptions for both of the roles below.

IT Infrastructure Process and Service Engineers- Hybrid Cloud

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing services, managing incidents, ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs), and coordinating minor changes within the operational environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the hybrid cloud environment, demonstrating expertise in both on-premise and cloud hosting solutions, platform services, backup strategies, storage technologies, and related systems.
• Oversee incident resolution and ensure timely adherence to SLAs.
• Provide communication to the business during disruptions, offering updates and resolutions.
• Coordinate and manage minor changes within the IT environment (change management processes).
• Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with IT processes, aligning them with internal standards while continuously enhancing their efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with both internal technical teams and external partners.
• Ensure service delivery stays within the allocated budget.

Key Competencies:

• Experience with Windows Server and cloud infrastructure solutions (e.g., Azure, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with ESX and VMware environments.
• Proficiency in managing SQL Server instances.
• Expertise in backup processes, including RTO/RPO and tools like VEEAM.
• Knowledge of storage solutions (e.g., RAID configurations, Dell Unity).
• Familiarity with financial operations (FinOps) is an advantage.

Desired Qualities:

• A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline.
• A solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on problem-solving.
• A collaborative team player.
• Knowledge of service management practices and their practical application.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Dutch.
• Willingness to travel for short business trips as needed.
• Experience with relevant technologies is an advantage, though enthusiasm, curiosity, and a proactive attitude are valued more than experience.
• Relevant certifications in the technologies used are a plus.

IT Infrastructure Process & Service Engineer- Networking and Connectivity

In this role, your expertise will be essential in maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure. You will monitor services, manage incidents, ensure SLAs are met, and coordinate minor changes within the system. Your suggestions for process improvements will contribute to seamless service delivery. Collaboration with service providers and internal teams will be key to your success.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage the network domain, demonstrating deep knowledge in LANs, WANs, firewall management, proxy services, remote access, and network security.
• Provide guidance on network architecture and design while staying informed about industry developments and emerging technologies.
• Oversee incident management, ensuring compliance with SLAs.
• Communicate with the business during outages to offer updates and resolutions.
• Coordinate and manage minor changes within the IT environment, following change management processes.
• Establish and maintain IT processes, ensuring alignment with internal standards, and continuously enhance their efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and external partners.
• Ensure that service delivery stays within the established budget.

Key Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching concepts (e.g., Cisco).
• Expertise in core network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and others.
• Familiarity with security technologies such as Checkpoint UTM (firewall, IPS, web filtering, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of VPN technologies.
• Experience with SD-WAN deployments (e.g., Broadcom/VMware).
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
