Our team Our Corporate lawyers advise corporations and institutions of all sizes, both public and private, on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, corporate finance, private equity investments and cross-border transactions.

The Brussels Corporate team has an enviable client base acting for a large number of the region’s listed companies, a growing private equity client base and exposure to cross jurisdictional transactions. We will also support, from time to time, the work of other offices whether overseas or UK based.

We are looking for a talented Associate to join the team in Brussels (minimum 5 years PQE). The role will suit driven, confident candidates with demonstrable skills within the Corporate space who also want to develop and thrive within an exciting and international focused team.

Role and key responsibilities

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic team, providing world class services to a range of high quality clients operating across a number of jurisdictions. You'll be someone who wants to be the best at what they do; who can handle pressure and enjoys making decisions that will have a real impact on the business. You will primarily undertake transactional work with the opportunity to gain experience of a wide variety of work across our General M&A, FS M&A, TMT M&A, Public Company Advisory, Private Capital, and Energy and Infrastructure teams. This provides our Associates with a rounded experience and the foundation to make an informed decision as to which area they wish to focus on and build their career around from Associate on.

What we want from you:

Have the ability to deal with the competing demands of clients which arise from involvement in a number of separate transactions at once and have the ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines

• Able to demonstrate the delivery of excellent client care. Due to the nature of the work in this role, drive, enthusiasm and ability to work well as part of a team are vital
• Able to build great relationships with colleagues you work with in other practice groups and ideally will have some experience of supporting junior colleagues
• Have good networking skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to build client relationships and develop new relationships.
• Be commercially aware and be willing to participate in group training and know how
