Our client, a leading company in the corporate sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team in Brussels, Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. Job Description: • Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards. • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls. • Handle general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close processes. • Perform analysis of financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to management. • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring efficient and accurate transactions. • Coordinate and assist with audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and reports are provided in a timely manner. • Monitor cash flow, ensuring optimal liquidity levels and efficient use of company resources. • Maintain and improve internal accounting procedures, systems, and controls. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and business operations. Your Profile: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in financial reporting and general ledger management. • Proven expertise in local accounting standards (BE GAAP) and international accounting standards (IFRS is a plus). • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial data clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders. • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Dutch is an advantage. • Team player with a proactive, results-driven approach.
