Fiber Engineer

We are hiring a High Level Design Engineer for our customer, one of the main telecommunications companies in Belgium.

Location: Antwerp region

Role Overview:

For construction and relocation projects involving coaxial and fiber networks in your region, you are responsible for designing the coax network and the associated infrastructure for both networks. The design team keeps you informed about the latest technologies and developments within the fixed network, allowing you to work efficiently with them.

You deliver finalized designs to your colleagues in the field, who carry out the implementation based on your work.

Ultimately, you will see the results of your designs materialize on the streets.

As a key figure in the Antwerp region, you play a crucial role within the Regional Delivery department.

Responsibilities:

• Strengthen your analyses through project-related coordination meetings and site visits.
• Combine remote work, office presence, and on-site activities.
• Use graphic tools to build your high-level designs.
• Monitor priorities within your project portfolio.
• Coordinate all design tasks in your portfolio and act as a central point of contact in the region.
• Actively coordinate with fiber engineers, site coordinators, engineering firms, and utility companies on the network impact.
• Maintain regular contact with low-level design engineers, who translate your designs into detailed plans.
• Validate the detailed design to ensure it is ready for execution.
• For minor changes, you update the design yourself.
• Discuss each individual project with the site coordinator, who oversees the execution.
• Each project is different, but you regularly collaborate with the same partners.
• By thinking proactively, you build strong relationships and a broad network of regular contacts.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s level thinking or equivalent through experience.
• Strong communication skills; you frequently engage with external stakeholders to make agreements.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances and projects.
• Resident of the greater Antwerp region.
• Driving license B.
