Accounting/Tax Manager Group

An international company is looking for an Accounting and Tax Manager at the group level for its operations in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

As an Accounting and Tax Manager Group, you will work closely with the Finance Manager Group to oversee general accounting and tax activities, ensuring accurate General Ledger management and monthly closings. You will be responsible for optimizing and documenting procedures and financial controls in compliance with local regulations and group policies. Additionally, you will manage the consolidation process.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting Operations

• Oversee General Ledger functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with Local GAAP and group policies.
• Ensure that accounting entries align with local accounting standards.
• Supervise the maintenance of company general ledgers and perform reconciliations as needed.
• Ensure correct and accurate classification of all expenditures and documents.
• Conduct specific analyses and process reviews of general ledger accounts.
• Ensure the integrity of the financial system while providing timely, accurate, and meaningful reporting.
• Supervise the Accounts Payable process, including payments planning and aged accounts management.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable follow-up and process maintenance in collaboration with the credit controller.
• Provide support to internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, authorities, and operational teams.

Tax Compliance

• Calculate and prepare monthly and annual VAT returns.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual income tax return and respond to ad hoc tax-related requests

Reporting & Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
• Prepare annual statutory accounts for Belgium.
• Coordinate with external accountants for local statutory accounts and compliance in the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
• Support data collection for budgeting purposes.
• Analyze current systems and processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Team Supervision

• Supervise and support the accounting team.
• Participate in staff selection, training, and development.

Profile Requirements

• A degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in consultancy, audit, or accounting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• A problem-solving mindset and strong prioritization skills.
• Ability to drive change with a focus on improving procedures and processes.
• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in French and Dutch; English is a plus.
• Knowledge of Navision/Business Central is an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
