Senior Field Service Technician

This company has evolved to be a prominent participant in the commercial and industrial decarbonization markets. In recent years, the company has expanded significantly and executed some of the largest solar projects to help decarbonization in Belgium.

In addition, they are rapidly growing across Europe. They specialize in behind-the-meter decarbonization solutions for commercial and industrial customers. The company began with solar PV projects and is currently expanding into battery storage, e-mobility, onshore wind energy, and heat solutions.

The Role;

• Preventative and corrective maintenance on renewable energy systems (solar, charging, and/or battery storage facilities);Make repairs in an emergency;
• To guarantee optimum system performance, perform examinations, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, and communication equipment;
• Quickly respond to service requests, identify issues, and put fixes in place to reduce downtime;
• oversee and assist with the commissioning and testing of upgrades and new installations (such as solar, charging, and battery storage facilities);
• Ensure that all service activities are accurately documented, including reports on system performance, maintenance, and repairs;
• Cooperate with engineers, site managers, and remote monitoring teams to maximize system performance;
• Maintain tools and spare parts inventory to guarantee service readiness;
• As required, give site staff technical assistance and training.

The Requirements;

• A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a similar discipline (or comparable experience);
• Experience in commissioning and maintaining battery energy storage systems is a major bonus.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, inverters, transformers, control and communication systems.
• Experience with SCADA systems, monitoring platforms, and data analysis and/or communication protocols for system improvement.
• The ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, and manuals;
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical components.
• PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to operate autonomously in remote field areas;
• Excellent working understanding of French, Dutch, and English.
• Requirements include willingness to travel to project sites, especially in Belgium, and a valid driver's license.
