To support the financial team of a global automotive brand with European HQ in Brussels, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading a team focused on monthly closings, accruals, and data clean-up. Your core mission will be to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of financial data, as well as drive the reconciliation processes across multiple systems.
This is a strategic and operational role suited for someone with strong analytical skills, a
hands-on attitude, and proven leadership in finance controlling.
Team Leadership & Coordination:
• Lead and supervise a team responsible for monthly financial closing processes.
• Coordinate tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely and accurate completion of all
deliverables.
Controlling & Forecasting Support:
• Collaborate closely with the IT department’s controllers to support mid- and long-term
forecasts, budget planning, and variance analysis.
• Serve as a key contact point for cost center owners and provide financial insights and
support.
Month-End Closing & Accruals:
• Oversee and validate month-end closing activities, including accruals, deferrals, and
expense reclassifications.
• Ensure alignment with group accounting principles and deadlines.
Reconciliations & Data Quality:
• Take ownership of reconciliations across multiple financial and operational systems.
• Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and quality between IT systems and Finance
platforms.
• Investigate discrepancies and proactively resolve data issues.
Process Improvement:
• Continuously improve controlling processes and data flows.
• Propose and implement automation and efficiency initiatives.
Your profile
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or
related field.
• 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, preferably within a matrix organization.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams (directly or indirectly).
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting and financial reconciliation processes.
• Experience working with multiple ERP systems and large datasets.
• Proficient in Excel and ideally familiar with Power BI, Oracle, or other financial tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail and strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.
• Proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative and drive results.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a Finance/IT interface role.
• Background in multinational or shared service environments.
• Understanding of IT cost structures and service-based costing is a plus.
