Senior Legal Counsel


Location: Brussels (hybrid)


Our client, a global leader in energy management and industrial automation, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal and compliance support across its operations. With a strong focus on smart energy solutions, industrial automation, and sustainability, this company plays a key role in optimising energy use for businesses worldwide.


In this role, you’ll be the go-to legal expert for negotiating and drafting distribution agreements, wholesaler contracts, and sales partner agreements, ensuring compliance with competition and antitrust regulations across international markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for products, services, and software across various sales channels (wholesalers, switchgear manufacturers, OEMs, etc.)
  • Provide competition and antitrust regulatory advice for distribution and channel operations.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and legal documentation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks, contributing to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and corporate policies.
  • Deliver legal training and support compliance programs, with a focus on distribution and channel sales.
  • Provide general legal support as required by legal management.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Fully qualified lawyer with a Master/Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) with strong technical proficiency and Dutch.
  • Experience in an international corporate environment, preferably in-house.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Business-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
