Freelance Azure Cloud Engineer – Migration from On-Premise to Azure Cloud

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Remote and On-site options)

Contract Type: Freelance (6-12 months)

Our client is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Azure Migration experience to join our client’s team for an exciting project in Brussels. As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based infrastructure and migration strategies, specifically moving from on-premise to Microsoft Azure. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest cloud technologies, collaborate with talented platform engineering teams, and shape the future of cloud adoption.

Responsibilities:

• Be involved migration from on-premise infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates.
• Automate and manage cloud infrastructure with Python, Node.js and PowerShell.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Bitbucket for continuous deployment.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams on microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud-native networking.
• Integrate observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana for monitoring cloud health.
• Apply cloud best practices, including the Cloud Adoption Framework and Well Architected Framework.
• Troubleshoot and optimize cloud infrastructure to meet business needs and ensure high performance..

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
• Proven experience leading Azure cloud migrations from on-premise to cloud environments.
• Expertise in designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, Pulumi, and Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with cloud automation, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• A passion for learning new technologies and driving innovation.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus.
