The services shall be performed remotely in Near-site location allowing to reach the Commission premises in Brussels within 2 hours.

Contract:

• 220 days (with possibilities of renewal until 1100 days)

Minimum requirements to qualify for the interview:

• Your CV in English language
• Your skills must correspond to the current position
• Experience in collaborating efficiently and politely with colleagues remotely
• Must have EU citizenship, permanent residency, or EU Blue Card (client will not sponsor) and be able to establish as a freelancer within the EU.

TASKS

• Development of front-end website architecture.
• Design of user interactions on web pages.
• Development of back-end website applications.
• Implement core business logic.
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality.
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Cross-platform optimization.
• Design responsive applications.
• Design and develop APIs.
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software.
• Taking the lead on projects, as needed.
• Maintenance of code integrity and organization.
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back end.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

• A bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND TECHNOLOGIES

• At least 10 years of specific expertise in microservices architecture and API-driven development.
• At least 6 years of specific expertise in front-end languages such as JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• At least 6 years of specific expertise in JavaScript frameworks and libraries such as Angular, Bootstrap, React, VueJS.
• At least 10 years of specific expertise in back-end languages and frameworks such as Java, PHP, Spring boot, and Hibernate.At least 6 years of specific expertise in Database technology such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Virtuoso triple store.
• At least 6 years of specific expertise in Containerization and Orchestration Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes.
• At least 3 years of experience in Securing applications, including expertise in OpenID Connect, OAuth2, and TLS.
• At least 6 years of specific expertise in Code versioning tools such as Git or SVN

• Ability to apply high-quality standards to all tasks.

• A high degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in SANTE.R.4 contain personal and confidential data.

APPLICABLE SECURITY PROCEDURES

• All non-EU external service providers, who may have access either to EC premises or to EC network, are subject of security screening by Commission’s security directorate (HR.DS) before specific contract signature to assess risks vis-à-vis Commission’s sensitive non-classified information.
