Job Summary:
We are seeking a Hardware Engineer with expertise in electrical design and compliance with Belgian regulations to join our team in the nuclear sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cable calculations, electrical cabinet design, and electrical drawings. This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure regulatory compliance and the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical hardware for nuclear applications, ensuring compliance with Belgian and European regulations.
- Perform cable calculations and define electrical protection settings.
- Create, review, and update electrical drawings and schematics for electrical cabinets and other components.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical analyses, and risk assessments related to electrical designs.
- Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Maintain documentation and provide technical support for audits and regulatory reviews.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Belgian electrical regulations and standards, including RGIE/AREI and nuclear safety guidelines.
- Experience in cable sizing, short-circuit calculations, and load analysis.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, See Electrical).
- Hands-on experience in designing and assembling electrical cabinets.
- Familiarity with nuclear industry safety protocols is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team in a high-security environment.
- Fluent in Dutch is a MUST.
