Destination Manager for France & Belgium

We are seeking a Destination Manager based in Belgium to help with event booking and supplier relations for our groups in France and Belgium.

The job

As Destination Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining supplier relations, checking availability with activity providers, confirming bookings, sending vouchers to clients, doing pre-arrival checks and handling any problems at the destinations. You will be checking up on everything being correctly booked and coordinating details with our sales team and directly with customers to make sure our groups get the service they have paid for. You will receive training in the position and will also be a part of an Operations Team of 6 people who operate other destinations who can assist you as well. The position is a remote work / work-from-home position. The job is full-time 40 hours per week on average, including emergency phone weekend cover 1-2 weekends per month. Expect more work load during peak season and less during off season.

We provide a good fixed salary but also a significant bonus structure. The role comes with a lot of responsibility but also enjoys a lot of autonomy and self-management.

Please note that this is a Contract position, meaning you will work as a Consultant or Freelancer, but full time.


The job’s main tasks will be these:


  • Finding and negotiation agreements with new suppliers
  • Maintaining and optimising relations and agreements with current suppliers
  • Make new reservations with suppliers via phone and email
  • Handle changes to existing reservations (long term and last minute)
  • Finalize bookings and communicate final booking details to customers
  • Communication with the group leader during the trip
  • Communication with account manager colleagues regarding bookings and changes
  • Be on-call for emergency phone during weekends / nights (in shifts, so you will be on-call for 1-2 weekends a month)
  • Ad hoc problem solving


Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following skills:


  • Fluent in French (native level)
  • Business level English
  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
  • Flexible and customer oriented approach
  • If you are an organisational talent, that is a big plus.
  • Be a great communicator, both with clients and internally
  • Be a fast learner of new IT systems
