Project Manager – Capital Equipment for the Food Industry


Our client, a globally recognized leader in food processing solutions, is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in food machinery manufacturing to manage complete projects for capital equipment production lines. This role requires hands-on experience managing full project lifecycles, from concept to completion, with a particular focus on food production machinery. You will report directly to the Project Director and oversee the execution of large-scale projects across various stages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project plans, defining scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Ensure seamless coordination between engineering, production, and client teams
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identifying and mitigating risks
  • Oversee installation and commissioning at customer sites
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, ensuring strong relationship management
  • Facilitate key project meetings, including kick-off, status updates, site surveys, and close-out
  • Manage project budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies and best practices


Profile


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (minimum), with formal Project Management training
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complete projects within the food machinery manufacturing sector, including full production lines and capital equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile preferred)
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment


Skills & Knowledge

  • Expertise in project planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Strong budgeting, cost control, and financial oversight skills
  • Excellent risk management and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to drive collaboration across internal and external stakeholders


Languages

  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in French or Dutch is an advantage


Additional Information

  • Location: Sint Niklaas, Flemish Region, Belgium.
  • Travel: Up to 30%
