Tusk IC is a fabless millimeter wave (mmWave) IC design company, located in Antwerp, Belgium. Founded in 2018 as a spin-off from the KU Leuven, it is a growing start-up at the leading edge of mmWave technology. With 5G, 60GHz communication, imaging and self-driving cars all relying on mmWave to break through, Tusk IC provides state-of-the-art design solutions for integrated circuits from 3GHz to 300GHz and beyond in CMOS and SiGe technologies. Tusk IC is also developing their own product for satellite communications.

Position description

As electronics design engineer, your focus will be to strengthen and complement our existing team of ASIC designers. You will play an important role in our satcom product development, helping with the PCB design of the prototypes and measurement boards, implement test automation scripts, execute measurements on the prototypes, and write post-processing scripts. You will become a core member of our team and clear communication during team interactions is essential.

What will be your responsibilities and challenges?

• Design of RF and support boards, from board stack-up selection until assembly and testing
• Prepare and plan RFIC measurements, write the necessary scripts, execute the measurements and post-process the data
• Designing PCBs for our Satcom product development in close collaboration with our antenna designer
• Clear and concise reporting
• Come up with creative solutions to new problems

Your required competences and qualifications

• BSc (Hons) or higher degree (MSc/PhD) in electrical engineering with a focus on PCB design, scripting and measurements.
• Experience with RF electronics, boards and measurements
• Lab experience
• Proficient in a scientific scripting or programming language (preferably Python)
• Eager to learn and willingness to adopt new tools and design techniques
• Versatile skill set and flexible to learn and help where needed
• Clear communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
