Junior Consultant Healthcare (Internship)

Junior Consultant - Healthcare (Internship)

What’s Happening?

The Health Team at Weber Shandwick creates world-class work and word’s got out... We’re driving engaging campaigns that are renown for shaping collaboration between industry, patients and policymakers to reimagine healthcare in Europe. More than ever, we’re finding ourselves at a crossroads with exciting projects ahead of us that define how healthcare can meet increasing expectations in society.

We're looking for a smart, curious, and talented intern to join our Health Team in Brussels for a 6-month paid traineeship.

You need to have a hands-on mindset, be organised and flexible to deal with a variety of stimulating projects. You will be supported by a great team, have access to all the spoils of a big, global, award-winning agency and the freedom to make your mark in this role and in your career. We offer a flexible work environment and an opportunity to learn the A-Z of being a high-performing consultant.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting team’s responses to clients’ requests, contributing to the development and execution of communication and engagement campaigns;
  • Focusing predominantly on health policies, but occasional support can also be required on other projects in public affairs and communication across teams;
  • Working closely with the account leads and the team, providing media and policy monitoring, background research and analysis, and support in the production of materials for clients;
  • Assisting in the implementation of outreach and advocacy programmes and organisation of events in the Brussels’ bubble;
  • Contributing to marketing and business development efforts exhibiting our word-class knowledge and skills to navigate around complex issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proactive, dynamic and eager to learn.
  • A strong interest in global and EU health policy and communications (this is a must-have).
  • Good understanding of EU policy and decision-making processes – previous experience within an EU/international institution, NGO or consultancy is a plus, but don't hold back from applying if you don't have that.
  • Analytical with good writing skills; you demonstrate the ability to research and analyse policies/the political environment.
  • Fluent in English. Knowledge of other EU languages is a plus - our very international office is at 19 languages & counting.
  • Possess a drive to grow professionally and build a career in a challenging but exciting business environment.
  • Know your way around social media and digital communication; we’re communicators and influencers – we master our tools.
  • Have completed a university degree in political science, public affairs, international relations, health, health policy, law, or another relevant field.

About the internship

You’ll be embedded in client teams from week 1 and you’ll be quickly equipped with an overview of the consultancy work and European public affairs.

The internship framework is a professional immersion (Convention Immersion Professionelle, if you’ll excuse our French) – this means you will follow a structured traineeship programme and be equipped with all the skills to become a consultant – literally groomed for success.

We pride ourselves on putting personalised development plans in place, allowing us to develop our talented interns to become the consultants we seek to hire.
